MICHAELA

Michaela’s interest in Pre and Postnatal Pilates developed early on during her training as she saw the benefits of Pilates for improving posture which is one of the first areas to change during pregnancy.  By working on balance, stability and strength and flexibility Pilates helps to combat this. Michaela enjoys the experience of being part of a Prenatal team, guiding a woman through her trimesters with a focus on improving circulation and building strength in preparation for the baby.  Equally she values the significance of Postnatal Pilates, providing ongoing support for symptoms such a cramping, muscle soreness, fatigue and balance. Above all, it is the process of helping a woman embrace the changes her body goes during this exciting time that Michaela finds most rewarding.

Enya

Following a traumatic labour 5 years ago, Enya found that Pilates helped her successfully restore her body and confidence; as a result she made a decision to train in Pilates to help women just like her. After further study in pre and postnatal repertoire she developed in-depth knowledge within this area. It is her desire to share her experience and help others who have suffered to be pain-free.

What People say about us

I love the concept of Pilates at home, and it’s brilliant that I can chose a trainer that is specialised in postnatal Pilates. It has been a great help in my healing process so far! With a new-born at home, My Method is the only way I manage to work out twice a week.
— Jolanda
I have a six-month old baby and not much support. Having a teacher come to my house means I can work on building back my strength at a time that suits me without having the stress of organising childcare and timing feeds to suit a class.

NEW TO MY METHOD?

What should I expect?

We move at your pace and fully support you. Expect immediate benefits in your mood, appearance and posture, starting right after your first session.

What do I wear?

Wear clothing that doesn't restrict your movement or breathing: gym gear is fine or comfortable shorts/trousers and a t-shirt.

Do I need equipment?

All you need is space to lay a mat, we provide the rest.

How do I choose the right teacher?

Check out our teacher profiles or let us find the perfect teacher for you.

Should I do Pilates or Yoga?

Pilates focuses on strength, muscle toning, body control, alignment and flexibility, with the main emphasis being core strength. Precision and isolation of muscle groups is key to the method.

Yoga focuses more on flexibility and tends to target broader muscle groups. It offers balance, endurance, strength and some really physical movement. Sessions can range from gentle and nourishing to challenging and sweaty. It also draws on an ancient heritage of meditation and spiritual discipline.

If you’re still not sure, we are here to answer any questions and help you find the right practise for you.

Do I need to choose a style of Pilates or Yoga?

No - we help you find the right style for you: that’s why we call it “My Method”. Our teachers often blend several styles to suit the individual. It will all make sense once you get going!

Can I share my sessions with a friend?

Yes – we know that some some of you prefer privacy and others prefer the added commitment and social side of sharing.

We offer sessions for two at the same price as one, making this a great value option for couples or friends.

If you’ve got the space, you can also host a bigger group – see our pricing page for details, or contact us about corporate group packages.
